The Gambetta residence in Calais
The Gambetta residence in Calais comprises 54 studio apartments, and the Olympie residence in Longuenesse comprises 50 studio apartments.
Students wishing to move into these residences must submit a housing application via the D S E (Dossier Social Etudiant) on the internet between January 15 and May 15, and renew it at the start of each academic year (however, after this date, applications are processed on a rolling basis). Additional grants (see this guide) are also available for housing assistance.
The dossier social étudiant (student social file) is the formality that helps you apply for a scholarship and/or housing for the upcoming year. This procedure gives you access to assistance from your local CROUS.
The Calais campus has a few rooms available from private individuals. Since 2013, the campus has had a CROUS residence, part of whose rooms are reserved for EIL Côte d’Opale engineering students.

CROUS rental contracts are drawn up for a renewable period of one year. One month’s notice is required in the event of early departure.
Rents are set at around 338 euros, depending on surface area (excluding charges for water, electricity and heating). There is no council tax to pay. The security deposit is set at one month’s rent, refundable on departure after an inventory of fixtures. Rents can be paid by Internet, bank check or, on request, in cash during the manager’s office hours.
This residence is eligible for housing assistance (APL). As an indication, the amount paid to a student with a grant will be around 203 euros, and to a student without a grant around 157 euros. Applications must be made to the CAF in ARRAS or online at www.caf.fr when you move into your accommodation (the secretariat at the Calais residences will help you with these procedures).
Laundry facilities are available in the residence.
Olympie Residence in Longuenesse
The engineering school and the Olympie residence are located 300 m and 100 m respectively from the university restaurant.
- The Saint-Omer campus already has a number of rooms available from private individuals.
- Since 2012, the campus has had a Crous residence just a few steps from the École d’Ingénieurs. The Olympie university residence, managed by the CROUS, is located in the immediate vicinity of the EIL Côte d’Opale (less than three minutes on foot).
- It comprises 50 furnished 25 m2 studios with a kitchenette and a bathroom.
Students wishing to move into this new residence must submit a housing application via the D S E (dossier social étudiant) and, for students arriving in France, an international housing application. This residence is eligible for housing assistance. Applications must be made to the CAF of Arras when you move in. The secretariat office will help you with these procedures.

Each tenant has a parking space.
The university restaurant is 200 meters from the residence (traditional lunchtime catering).
