Salim‘s experience

Littoral-Côte-d’Opale Engineering School

Apart from some of the computers in the computer rooms in the Poincaré building, which are sometimes very slow, everything is perfect for me.

From personal experience, I can say that you shouldn’t hesitate to ask for help.

Starting a new course in a foreign country can be very unsettling, but if you stick with it, you’ll inevitably get through it.

One very important point: knowing how to manage on your own, both for administrative matters and for everyday needs, is essential.

As soon as you arrive, you need to find out from the university, the senior citizens or on the internet what steps you need to take and, above all, in what order.

Travel to another city is sometimes necessary, so it’s best to book your travel tickets in advance.

As I’m on the Calais site, I’d like to thank the local councillors for the free public transport.

University accommodation is very affordable, but to avoid unpleasant surprises, I’d advise you to have a plan B in the private sector. You can find great accommodation and very good landlords.

I really appreciate having my Thursday evenings free. It’s invaluable for getting a bit of a head start on lessons.
