 The Opaliens Alumni Network is an association under the law of 1901 bringing together all the engineering graduates of the École d’Ingénieurs du Pas-de-Calais (EIPC) and the École d’Ingénieurs du Littoral Côte d’Opale (EILCO).

Numerous actions are carried out with the aim of:

  • Developing professional and friendly links between members
  • Promoting entry into the world of work and facilitating career changes
  • Maintaining openness to the world of companies represented by members
  • Facilitating access to continuing education and to projects run by the university

2024 Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony for the engineers of the EIL Côte d’Opale class of 2024 took place on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Calais. 

This event took place in the presence of Vincent LOGEZ, Investment and Design Office Manager at Graftech, sponsor of the class.  

2023 Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony for EIL Côte d’Opale’s class of 2023 engineers took place on Friday December 1, 2023 at 2:30 pm at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Calais.

The event was attended by Marie-Hélène Paillet, General Secretary of UIMM Littoral – Pas-de-Calais and Vice-Chairwoman of the EILCO Board, the class’ patron. 

2022 Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony for EIL Côte d’Opale’s Class of 2022 engineers took place on Friday December 9, 2022 at 3pm at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Calais.

The event was sponsored by Alcatel Submarine Networks, in the presence of Yannick Demaret, R&D Project Manager.

2020 and 2021 Graduation Ceremonies

The graduation ceremony for the 233 engineers from EIL Côte d’Opale’s classes of 2020 and 2021 in Computer Science and Industrial Engineering and Master’s degree in Complex Systems Engineering took place on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 3 pm at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Calais.

This event took place in the presence of Emmanuel Villard, Director of the Gravelines Nuclear Power Plant, sponsor of the 2 EIL Côte d’Opale classes.

About the Sponsor

Emmanuel Villard graduated in engineering from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers in 1993. He also obtained a degree in Atomic Engineering from INSTN in 1994.

After starting his career as an engineer with Hémisphéres CEA IPSN, where he carried out probabilistic safety studies on Pressurized Water Reactors 900 in the Reactor Control Analysis Department, he joined the Gravelines Nuclear Power Plant in 1997. He held several positions: Unit Shutdown Maintenance Engineer, then Manager of a team in charge of risk prevention. He then became Project Manager at the Le Havre thermal power plant, before joining the St-Alban Nuclear Power Plant in 2010 as Production Mission Manager, then Deputy Director in 2013, and Director in 2017. Since 2019, he has been Director of the Gravelines Nuclear Power Plant.

About the EDF Gravelines Nuclear Power Plant

The EDF Gravelines nuclear power plant is located about 20 km west of Dunkirk, 25 km east of Calais, and 85 km northwest of Lille, the main city in the Lille-Roubaix-Tourcoing-Mouscron cross-border conurbation. The latter is one of the most densely populated urban areas in France and Belgium (one million inhabitants).

The nuclear site covers an area of 150 hectares. It is the most important nuclear power plant in France and Western Europe.

Key figures: 1st nuclear power plant in France with a capacity of 5,400 MW – 6 reactors of 900 MW – 32.6 billion KWh produced in 2020 – 9.7% of French electricity from nuclear power – 2,000 EDF employees – 1,000 permanent partner employees.

2019 Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony for EIL Côte d’Opale’s class of 2019 engineers took place on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 4 pm at the EIL premises in Calais. This event was sponsored by Aluminium Dunkerque, in the presence of Guillaume de Goys, General Manager.
